Semi-automatic twist-lock with double wire (also
called semi-automatic twist-lock dual wire, semi-automatic twist-lock double
handle or dual handle semi-automatic twistlock) is used to secure two
containers together. When two containers are place on each other the
semi-automatic twist-lock closes automatically because of the weight. The two
wires or handle are then used to release the top, or bottom cone.
Semi-automatic twist lock are the most
commonly used connectors for shipping containers. They consist of a metal
casting with a double wire mechanism that locks into the corner casting of a
container. Twist locks allow containers to be stacked or locked side by side,
providing a safe and reliable connection.
Traditional shipping container twist locks
are locked and unlocked semi-automatically using operating levers.
