2-inch and 3.5-inch Semi-Trailer King Pin

2-inch and 3.5-inch semi-trailer king pin frequently referred to as the “pivot point" between the semi-trailer and truck.

King pin is produced in 2 and 3.5 inch sizes in compliance with SAE/DIN standards. The 2-inch size D value is between 152-190 kN and the 3.5 size D value is up to 260 kN. King pin dimension and capacity values are preferred according to prime mover 5th wheel size and its load capacity.

King pins consist of 2 parts: king pin head and mounting bracket. King mounting bracket and king pin head is connected with 8 pcs bolt connection. With the bolt-on mounting bracket structure, 2 inch and 3 inch king pin heads can be easily replaced. With interchangeable 2”-3,5” king pin head structure, the semi-trailer will be easily usable with any prime mover.

ATTENTION: To combine and connect to fifth Whell coupling H50 or H50-x

MOUNTING TO THE TRAILER

1 -   The king pin must be mounted with the related welding plate

2 -   During the welding process pay attention to avoid extreme heat on the pin

3 -   Welding must be minimum 7 mm from both sides

4 -   Fix the pin with a torque of 160 Nm (for 152kN) and 190 Nm (for 175kN) on all 8 bolts, assure the bolt quality of 12.9

5 -   Assure the sufficient mechanical resistance of the trailer coupling plate

6 -   The welding must make at once

MAINTENANCE

1 -   The greasing of the pin as the bolt torque and usage diameter must be controlled at least every 15 days

2 -   Use grease with quality least EP 2

3 -   THE PIN HAS TO BE EXCHANGED ON EVERY INDICATION OF DAMAGE DEFORMATION, VISIBLE CRACKS OR VISIBLE USAGE OF SURFACE

(MINUMUM DIAMETER: 50 mm)
